Al-Hilal ‘holding talks’ over Joao Cancelo as Barcelona yet to make an offer | OneFootball

According to Goal.com, Al-Hilal are holding verbal talks with Joao Cancelo’s representatives over a potential move to Barcelona in the current window.

Barcelona have not submitted an official bid, with contact so far limited to informal enquiries. Cancelo spent the second half of last season on loan at Barcelona and both parties want to continue the arrangement.

The Portugal international joined Al-Hilal from Manchester City in summer 2024 and impressed in his first season. His second was different, he was left out of the domestic squad and moved into a stand-off with the club.

Al-Hilal want to resolve their foreign contingent before the new campaign, with only eight overseas registrations allowed in the Roshn League squad.

They start their Saudi Roshn League season on Friday 14 August against Al-Faisaly at Kingdom Arena.
