Al-Hilal 'seal' 80 million euros deal for Crysencio Summerville after Raphinha talks collapse | OneFootball

According to Goal.com, Al-Hilal have sealed the signing of Dutch winger Crysencio Summerville from West Ham in a deal worth around 80 million euros, with Saudi media figure Mohammed Al-Bukairy detailing on X how the move came about.

An official bid to Barcelona for Raphinha included a proposed 20 million euros offset via João Cancelo. When Barcelona, led by Joan Laporta, pushed for 100 million euros, relations soured and the club walked away.

The stance was viewed internally as financial blackmail, and attention turned rapidly to alternatives. Summerville, shining in England, quickly came into focus. Funds previously earmarked for Raphinha or Mason Greenwood, who later joined Türkiye's Fenerbahçe, were redirected.

Sporting advice suggested Roma were close to a 50 million euros agreement for Summerville. Al-Hilal then tabled a much higher bid that his club accepted quickly, with initial paperwork completed in about an hour.

The outlay followed close monitoring of Summerville's Netherlands form, notably at the 2026 World Cup where he produced five goal contributions in six matches. Competing interest grew, but Al-Hilal's financial firepower ultimately decided the race.
