Al-Hilal have signed Mohammed Mahzari from Al-Taawoun on a three-year contract running to the summer of 2029, addressing a problem position at right-back.

According to Goal.com, the clubs completed the formalities last Monday evening. The 24-year-old is due to join Al-Hilal's camp in Austria and take part in pre-season preparations before competition begins.

The deal follows a shortage at right-back last season after Portugal's Joao Cancelo suffered a severe injury and was omitted from the domestic squad list, restricting him to Asian competition. Hamad Al-Yami then sustained a similar injury, elevating the position to a summer priority.

Mahzari offers versatility, excelling at right-back and capable of covering centre-back, providing the coach with tactical options.

A product of Al-Ettifaq's youth system, he did not establish himself with the first team, moving to Al-Taawoun on loan before signing permanently last summer on a three-year deal. His performances over the campaign attracted Al-Hilal, who negotiated with Al-Taawoun to buy out the remainder of his contract to reinforce with proven local talent.
