Al-Hilal legend Al-Jaber has questioned Al-Nassr’s 2013/2014 Saudi League triumph during a TV appearance, hinting that officiating influenced the outcome. He also said the current Roshen League race remains open.

According to Goal.com, he appeared on MBC’s Nadina and maintained this season’s crown is still within reach. Al-Nassr lead on 70 points from 27 matches, while Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli have 68 and 66 respectively after 28.

When a viewer reminded him Al-Hilal lost the 2013/2014 race under his watch, he replied that with video technology there is no longer what he termed a four-man push, implying Al-Nassr benefited from decisions at the time.

Host Abdulrahman Al-Humaidi noted ongoing claims that referees favour certain teams. Al-Jaber responded that Al-Ahli had a match taken from them and that there was no justice, adding such errors are unacceptable in an era with video support.

Al-Ahli drew 1-1 with Al-Fayha on Wednesday in Round 29. The match featured disputed incidents, most notably two Al-Ahli penalty appeals.
