Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr will make a final decision on Wednesday over whether to push ahead with a deal for Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran or Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface, according to The Athletic.

The Villains are bracing themselves for a bid for Duran. They are open to letting him leave Villa Park if they get around £80 million for his services.

Al Nassr have verbally agreed a deal for Boniface, but the move is yet to be finalised. Meanwhile, they have maintained interest in Duran, who has attracted significant attention this transfer window.

Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez was another name on Al Nassr’s shortlist, but the Reds have no intention of selling the Uruguayan forward mid-season.

Villa are reportedly open to allowing Duran to leave should an offer in the region of £80 million arrive. The 21-year-old Colombian international has already been the subject of a £57 million bid from West Ham United earlier this month, though that approach was unsuccessful.

Chelsea could also enter the race in the final days of the transfer window, with the Blues still scouring the market for a striker and Villa showing interest in Joao Felix and Axel Disasi. They could pawn off the two and some money for the impressive Villa striker.

Duran joined Villa from Chicago Fire in January 2023. He signed a new contract in October that keeps him at Villa Park until 2030.

Despite struggling for regular starts under Unai Emery, Duran has made an impact when given opportunities, scoring 12 goals in all competitions this season, including a crucial winner against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

However, with Villa pushing for a top-four finish in the Premier League and a deep run in Europe, the club may be reluctant to part with a player who has proven to be a valuable squad member.
