Jorge Jesus, the former Benfica manager, is close to securing his first winter addition at Al Nassr, with Iraqi defender Hayder Abdulkareem nearing a move.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Al Nassr have accepted Jesus’s request to sign Al-Zawraa’s Hayder Abdulkareem, that a formal agreement has been reached with the Iraqi club, that the defender has completed medical tests and that an announcement is imminent.
Jesus had urged the board for additions in recent weeks and now appears close to his first incoming of the window.
Even after a win in the last round, the Portuguese coach again felt short of options on the bench.
Abdulkareem, valued at €300,000, has made three appearances this season for Al-Zawraa, all in the AFC Champions League, totalling 102 minutes. Al Nassr also compete in that tournament.
