Kerim Alajbegovic insists he ‘didn’t think twice’ about joining Juventus, despite an offer from Chelsea, thanks Luciano Spalletti for advice, and wants to ‘compete for the title.’

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international had seemed to be on the verge of putting pen to paper for Chelsea, but suddenly Juve swooped in with a full agreement.

He only turned 19 earlier this week and feels Turin is the best place for him to flourish.

Alajbegovic has no Juventus regrets

“When you have an offer from Juventus, you don’t think twice, you have to go,” Alajbegovic told Sport Mediaset.

“In the end it was a really good decision for me. The Juventus fans are fantastic, they give us more energy.”

The versatile forward is also impressed with coach Spalletti, especially for the pointed criticism that can help him keep improving.

“There is a top coach who always wants me to make small details better, and I need coaches who will tell me what I need to do better, not just always good. He will help me to become a top, top player and I am really happy to work with him.”

Juventus have stuttered so far this season in Serie A with three wins, a draw and the 3-2 defeat to Sassuolo, leaving them in joint fifth place after five rounds.

“For sure, Juventus is the biggest team in Italy and we have traditions. I don’t speak about titles, it’s really early for this, but for sure we want to compete for the title and have big ambitions,” concluded Alajbegovic.

“We need to take it game by game, we’ve got ambitions and need to train hard.”

The teenager is still waiting for his first Serie A goal, but did score in the 5-0 Europa League victory over NEC.

He also featured in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s 0-0 Nations League draw away to Poland last night.
