According to Superdeporte, Aleix Febas is out of contract on 30 June and Elche face a summer overhaul, with many deals ending, regardless of survival. Numerous LaLiga clubs, and at least one from abroad, are following the 30-year-old closely.
A Real Madrid academy product, he impressed on loan at Zaragoza and Albacete before joining Mallorca. After a season and a half at Málaga he moved to Elche, where he has again become a key figure.
Febas dictates tempo, chips in with goals and assists, and breaks up play with tactical fouls when required. Indispensable to Eder Sarabia, he has started every game except the defeat to FC Barcelona, which he missed through suspension.
Elche sit two points above the drop and their fate may not be settled until the final rounds, perhaps the last. Against that backdrop, the player has kept his counsel, with the option to stay at Martínez Valero still on the table.
Celta de Vigo, Espanyol and even Osasuna are among the admirers. It is not ruled out that Girona or Sevilla could also move, given his profile and their needs. Tigres have been linked too, with wages that could surpass Spanish offers.
