Aleksander Ceferin, the UEFA president, launched another fierce attack on FIFA counterpart Gianni Infantino during Tuesday afternoon's EFC general assembly, the association of European clubs. According to L'Équipe, Infantino had been invited but did not attend.

Ceferin said it was time to draw a line, after listing what he described as the Italo-Swiss official's bad moves.

He cited, among other grievances, behind-the-scenes talks to sell their heritage and the peace prize Infantino presented to US president Donald Trump without prior consultation.

He argued that football is bigger than the people who govern it and that nobody has the right to sell its future.

He added that the sport is not for sale, neither today nor tomorrow.
