Manchester City captain Alex Greenwood has signed a new extension with the club until the end of the 2026/27 season.
The former Liverpool and Manchester United defender is now in her sixth season with the club and has been a key player at the back for the Citizens since joining from Lyon in the summer of 2020.
"I’m really happy to stay here, it’s the club I love and the club I want to be successful at and I’m really happy to be here for another two more [years]," the 32-year-old said on signing her new deal.
"Personally, I have so much unfinished business to be done, and I love this football club. It feels like home to me now and I feel this is where I belong and am meant to be."
This is more good news for City who have enjoyed an impressive start to the 2025/26 campaign. New manager Andrée Jeglertz sees his side top of the league after eight games played in the WSL with the Manchester derby coming up on Saturday.
