The fixture will also see the return of the popular ‘hand-drawn’ graphics on social media, as local school children were once again invited to draw their favourite Manchester City stars.

Ahead of the fixture, City Women backroom staff took time out to visit the charity’s sessions and hand out free tickets.

Man City Women’s Head Coach, Andrée Jeglertz, and Director of Football, Therese Sjogran, also spent time with City in the Community’s 16+ students as part of the community matchday celebrations.

Students enjoyed a coffee and a chat with the pair, discussing their career aspirations for the future before being invited to the game, where they will welcome the team into the stadium waving player flags.

Elsewhere, the day is being used to create once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for City in the Community participants, including meeting the players, joining the media teams, half-time activities and waving flags on the pitch.

CEO of City in the Community, Michael Geary, said: “We are delighted that Manchester City Women are celebrating the Club’s charity via a community matchday takeover.

“We are extremely passionate about engaging our fans and all the activities they’ll see on Saturday have been designed to help raise levels of visibility and awareness of City in the Community.

“As well as the exciting participant experiences, we are pleased to have also donated free matchday tickets to local school children, who otherwise might not be able to experience a matchday.

“Special thanks must also go to all partners and suppliers who have helped to make today’s match as impactful as possible.

“I hope that fans can join us and the Club in celebrating our work to empower healthier lives through football.”

To coincide with the celebrations, City in the Community has introduced a special Manchester City Women’s training experience as part of its monthly prize draw.

Alongside this exciting opportunity for supporters, all new subscribers will have their tickets doubled until the end of the season, with additional bonus tickets available when they refer a friend.

Fans around the world* also have the chance to win ‘money can’t buy’ experiences, including the opportunity to be a player mascot, take part in a team photo, or enjoy a Blue Carpet experience welcoming the team bus on matchday, and much more.
