Alex Jimenez joins Fiorentina on loan with option to buy from Bournemouth | OneFootball

Fiorentina have signed Alex Jimenez from Bournemouth on loan with an option to buy, the club said in a statement.

The option is reported to be about €20m, a figure mentioned when the deal first surfaced last week. The 2005-born full-back expressed delight at the move, noting the club’s total desire to sign him.

Born in Leganes and developed at Real Madrid, he made his name with Milan in Italy, recording 26 Serie A matches, six in the Coppa Italia and two in the Supercoppa Italiana. He lifted the latter with the Rossoneri in 2024/25.

His spell in England was brief. Bournemouth only made his move from Milan permanent in January, and he departs after 31 Premier League appearances and one goal, with the season ending in suspension amid an investigation into Instagram messages sent by the player.

A three-cap Spain Under-21 international, Jimenez bolsters Fabio Grosso’s options at full-back. Fiorentina have already added Radu Dragusin, Arthur Atta and others this window, and now hold the choice, not the obligation, to make his stay permanent.
