FLW takes a look at two players who could benefit from leaving The Valley during the next transfer window.
Charlton Athletic boss Nathan Jones has overseen a significant turnaround at The Valley since he was appointed manager in February 2024.
The Addicks were embroiled in a relegation battle at the bottom end of League One at the time of the Welshman's arrival, before he was able to steady the ship and guide the club to a 16th-place finish in the third tier.
Jones signed a number of players during the summer transfer window in 2024 to strengthen his squad in preparation for a promotion push the following season, with the likes of Matty Godden, Luke Berry and Josh Edwards being brought to the club.
Charlton successfully achieved promotion to the Championship via the play-offs, which meant Jones was once again busy during the summer transfer window last year.
Now, the Addicks are all set to fight for survival in the second tier, having made seven new signings during the January transfer window.
The rate at which Charlton have progressed under Jones means that a few players have naturally been left behind as the squad has improved during each transfer window.
The likes of Luke Berry and Terry Taylor may be looking ahead and considering their futures ahead of the summer, and they are unlikely to be the only players on Charlton's books who are wondering whether they have a future in SE7 beyond this season.
Let's take a look at two players Charlton paid transfer fees to sign during Jones' first summer at the club who could benefit from escaping this year.

Gassan Ahadme signed for Charlton from Ipswich Town in a deal worth around £750,000 during the summer of 2024, but the striker never really lived up to expectations at The Valley last season.
Three of his four goals for the Addicks came against lower league opposition in the FA Cup, with his only league goal for the club being a close-range winner against Shrewsbury Town, who finished the season bottom of the table.
The 25-year-old joined League One side Stevenage on loan in the summer, and he scored on his debut for the club in August, but he has not netted a league goal since and has not been included in a matchday squad since November due to injury.
Ahadme is under contract at The Valley until 2028, but considering he has not set the world alight at Stevenage, and he has never played in the Championship, it seems a real possibility that he could leave Charlton permanently this summer.

Alex Mitchell is another player Charlton signed during the summer transfer window in 2024. He was signed from Millwall for an undisclosed fee.
The 24-year-old made 31 League One appearances as the Addicks won promotion last term, but his involvement became significantly reduced after January 2025.
He joined Plymouth Argyle on loan in the summer, and he has been a key player for them as they have gradually improved over the course of the campaign under Tom Cleverley.
Mitchell is under contract at The Valley until 2027, but it would be no surprise to see Plymouth, or another League One club, come in with an offer to sign him permanently in the summer.
