Alex Scott has withdrawn from the England squad with a quad problem and could be sidelined for around two months, a significant setback for Bournemouth.

According to Bournemouth Echo, the midfielder has left the camp and will return for assessment this week to establish the extent of the issue.

Scott’s early-season form earned him a call-up for this international break, and he made his Three Lions debut off the bench against Czechia.

He then started against Croatia, having felt quad pain beforehand, and impressed in the 7-0 win on his full debut.

Scott has been a standout for the Cherries this term, playing all but three minutes across their Premier League and Europa League fixtures.

He has one goal and two assists in six games after a superb campaign last season that helped Bournemouth qualify for Europe.
