According to NY Times, Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott is leaving the England camp to return to his club after sustaining a quad injury. Assessments are ongoing and he could be sidelined for about two months.

The 23-year-old made his first senior start in Saturday’s 7-0 win over Croatia in Rijeka, was withdrawn after 70 minutes and replaced by James Garner.

It was his second senior appearance after he came off the bench in the win over Czech Republic last week.

Scott has been a key figure for Bournemouth this season, starting all five Premier League matches, scoring once and providing one assist.

Any prolonged absence would be another blow for the south-coast club, with forward Eli Junior Kroupi already out for between three and four months after foot surgery in July.

Scott has made 95 appearances for Bournemouth since joining from Championship side Bristol City in 2023. Before his senior call-up, he was a regular for the Under-21s and part of the squad that won the European Championships in 2025.

Bournemouth visit Chelsea on Saturday, 10 October, then play their first home Europa League league phase match against Sturm Graz five days later.
