It’s been a landmark summer of spending for Liverpool thus far but it’s STILL not over.
Florian Wirtz has been recruited for a British record fee which could reach £116m while Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Giovanni Leoni and Giorgi Mamardashvili have also been recruited.

Despite that outlay there are plans to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace and Alexander Isak from Newcastle. Isak, 25, was the subject of a bid earlier in the summer but Newcastle declined to do business.

The Swede doesn’t want to play for Newcastle any more - having been missing from their preseason programme as well as the first two Premier League matches of the season.
But Liverpool’s £110m offer was knocked back and some in the Magpies media have suggested that bid was derisory.
Sporting director Richard Hughes hasn’t been back in for Isak since as the Reds know they need to be patient. Newcastle require two new forwards before they will consider a sale for Isak.
The Geordies have managed to land Nick Woltemade - but Liverpool still need to tread carefully around the Isak deal. The club will probably only have one opportunity to get this bid right.
If they fail in the negotiations process then it’s likely the Reds will run out of time for Isak.
We know that £110m was too little for Newcastle and £150m looks on the excessive side.
So Hughes has got to land somewhere in the middle of that figure and hope the Eddie Howe plays ball. Those two are known to enjoy a close relationship and there is reason to be optimistic that a deal will get done.
According to a new report in GIVEMESPORT, Liverpool intend to submit a respectful bid for Isak - who is under contract at St. James’ Park until 2028.
“The true measure of Liverpool's respect for Newcastle is set to be reflected in the size of their forthcoming offer for Isak, with there being confidence that they can now try their luck a second time.”
