A genuine sigh of relief for Madjid Bougherra and his staff. The Algeria A’ team had feared losing Adam Ounas for the upcoming October training camp, but the scare proved to be short-lived. Substituted due to injury with his club Al-Sailiya against Al Arabi, the winger quickly became a focal point of concern, especially with his presence eagerly awaited to gear up for the 2025 Arab Cup. However, the initial tests put all doubts to rest: it’s only a minor ankle swelling, far from the early fears of a more serious injury.
For Bougherra, the news couldn’t have come at a better time. The local Greens’ coach now knows he can count on one of his main attacking weapons, a player capable of changing a game with his flashes of brilliance. Already pegged as one of the tournament favorites, Algeria will defend its title in this competition with renewed confidence. Ounas, declared fit for the October camp, will indeed be there to lead the charge.
