Vladimir Petkovic, head coach of Algeria, expressed significant caution regarding Sudan this Saturday.

During AFCON 2025, Algeria will kick off their campaign on December 24 against Sudan. The Fennecs will then face Burkina Faso on December 28 before wrapping up the group stage with a clash against Equatorial Guinea on December 31. In a press conference yesterday, Vladimir Petkovic unveiled his squad and discussed the Fennecs' first opponent.

"If we talk about Sudan, it's a very compact team capable of making a lot of sacrifices. They capitalize on their speed in counter-attacks. We can imagine their motivation will be even higher after the Arab Cup. We're favorites, but we have to prove it on the pitch. We're arriving in Morocco on Friday the 19th. We'll train in Morocco in the morning," the Algerian coach revealed.
