Liverpool faced off against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium earlier today as they hoped to secure a positive result on the road in the Premier League. The Reds made a solid start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.

Alexander Isak scored the opener for the Merseyside club in the 57th minute. Andoni Iraola’s men defended their slender advantage well and secured a narrow 1-0 win away from home.

He made a lot of crucial clearances inside his half and deserves credit for keeping the opposition attackers quiet.

LB: Milos Kerkez – 7/10

He cleared the danger when he could and made one good run with the ball.

CM: Dominik Szoboszlai – 6.5/10

Szoboszlai worked hard defensively but couldn’t keep any of his free-kicks on target.

CM: Alexis Mac Allister – 7/10

He anchored the midfield well and was good on the ball.

RW: Cody Gakpo – 7.5/10

Gakpo came back to defend when needed and played an important role in the lead-up to Isak’s match-winner.

He engineered some inviting chances for others around him, but failed to find the back of the net.

LW: Bradley Barcola – 6.5/10

Barcola showed flashes of what he can do, but lacked the cutting edge in the final third.

ST: Alexander Isak – 7/10

He was not shy of having a strike at goal and managed to score the winner in the 57th minute.

CM: Trey Nyoni – 6/10

He added some energy to Iraola’s midfield.
