FLW has asked ChatGPT to rank how passionate the 24 EFL Championship fanbases are

Most football supporters hold great passion for their clubs, but levels can vary throughout the 24 second-tier clubs.

Some sides are backed ferociously by their fans in the stands, whilst others enjoy more of a modest following.

Of second-tier football across Europe, however, few divisions can boast more passionate and well-travelled fanbases than the Championship, and clubs will often pride themselves on the level of their support.

With this in mind, Football League World has consulted AI Chatbot, ChatGPT, to rank the 24 EFL Championship fanbases in terms of how passionate they are.

Leicester City fans have been named the Championship’s most passionate, according to ChatGPT.

Their recent Premier League glory and ability to draw a big crowd is noted, with expanded national support also helping their cause.

Foxes supporters have become increasingly disgruntled after first slipping into the Championship, however, and they will hope that their passion can be rewarded with a swift promotion back to the Premier League.

Ipswich Town’s historic culture is highlighted by the chatbot, with it providing the passion for supporters to feed off.

A historically big club, the Tractor Boys have become resurgent in recent years.

The AI believes that this has helped power them towards their recent success and could play a crucial role in another promotion to the Premier League this term under Kieran McKenna.

Middlesbrough’s North East location is specified as the main reason for their supporters’ large amount of passion, as per ChatGPT.

The Riverside is regularly booming and has the ability to compete with some of the best Premier League atmospheres when at its best.

When Coventry City are in full flow, it’s hard to argue against their status as one of the division’s most passionate fanbases.

However, ChatGPT believes that the levels of passion can drop somewhat if the Sky Blues aren’t doing well, which pushes them below the other three clubs.

5 ? ? Hull City

Hull City’s ability to draw a big crowd is noted by the AI, especially when a Yorkshire derby is at hand.

They can’t quite match some of the other clubs in terms of passion, but fifth is still a respectable ranking.

6 ? ? Sheffield Wednesday

Somewhat surprisingly, Sheffield Wednesday fans fail to break into the top five on this list.

Despite backing the Owls passionately during Dejphon Chansiri’s reign, ChatGPT believes they can’t quite produce the same levels as Leicester City or Ipswich Town.

With a new feel-good factor around Hillsborough following Chansiri's exit, however, Wednesdayites may disagree with ChatGPT's selection here.

Birmingham City’s fanbase is complemented by ChatGPT, with their loyalty and patience both specifically mentioned.

However, their levels of passion fall just below some of the division’s most followed clubs, which prevents them from placing any higher.

Preston North End’s rich history is noted as the main reason behind their passionate fanbase, having backed their club for over 145 years.

Whilst PNE have stagnated in the second-tier over the past decade, this is seen as another reason to compliment fans according to the AI.

Falling not far behind their city rivals, Sheffield United’s fans are labelled as passionate by ChatGPT, but not as much as Wednesday's.

However, the Blades’ supporters are noted as performing excellently in the Premier League, so perhaps Championship football doesn’t motivate them as much anymore.

10 ? ? Blackburn Rovers

The chatbot makes reference to Blackburn Rovers’ illustrious past, as their domestic success has allowed them to garner a passionate fanbase.

A major drawback has been their support in modern times though according to ChatGPT, with that passion perhaps not as evident as it once was.
