Corinthians lost 2-1 at Coritiba in the 24th round of the Brasileirão on Sunday, but Allan supplied an assist to cut the deficit, his first goal involvement in more than four years.

Allan’s previous contribution came on 19 May 2022, when he was at Atlético Mineiro. Meu Timao notes that he had not been involved in a goal since that date. On that night he assisted twice in a 3-1 Libertadores win over Independiente del Valle.

He had neither scored nor assisted since. Across his career he has one goal, for SJK in 2015. Sunday’s assist was his first of the season and his first involvement for Corinthians.

The pass placed him on Corinthians’ 2026 assist chart, level with Vitinho, Ryan, Dieguinho, André Carrillo, Jesse Lingard and Breno Bidon, in 11th with one.

Rodrigo Garro leads with 11, followed by Yuri Alberto and Matheuzinho on four. The list contains 16 players.

The defeat was Corinthians’ second straight in the league. They now have a free week before hosting Santos at Neo Química Arena on Sunday 30 at 16:00, in round 25.
