Allegri believes Juventus will challenge for the Scudetto this season | OneFootball

Max Allegri has named Juventus as one of the clubs he expects to challenge for the Serie A title at the end of this season as he works at Napoli.

He joins a Napoli team that recently won the league in 2025 under Antonio Conte, and Allegri gets another chance to redeem himself after recent failures at AC Milan and Juventus. He remains one of the most experienced coaches in Italian football, and Napoli want to win the Scudetto at the end of this campaign.

Allegri identifies Serie A contenders

Napoli believe they have the manager and squad to become champions again, while Juventus will be looking to beat them to the title. However, the favourites to become champions again have to be Inter Milan.

They won the last league title and have remained one of the strongest teams, with a squad that boasts plenty of talent and experience, so they should be among the leading contenders to win again.

The Bianconeri see this as an important season for them under Luciano Spalletti, although they probably are not thinking primarily about winning the title. Juventus will instead hope that the new manager can help them make significant progress and compete more consistently at the top of the division.

Allegri expects a wide title race

Asked about his prediction, Allegri said via Tuttomercatoweb:

“Inter is the favourite since they hold the trophy, but there will be at least eight teams to keep an eye on. In addition to the Nerazzurri and us, also Milan, Juventus, Roma, Fiorentina, Como and Atalanta. In the Champions League, however, we have to go through the single group and then reach the playoffs or the round of 16 as best we can.”

Allegri’s prediction suggests he expects a highly competitive Serie A campaign, with several teams capable of challenging for major honours. While Inter remain his favourites because they hold the trophy, he believes the competition will involve a number of clubs.

For Juventus, being included among those contenders provides an indication of the expectations surrounding their campaign. Under Spalletti, the Bianconeri will hope to improve and establish themselves as genuine challengers, while Napoli will aim to defend their title and Allegri will attempt to guide them towards another Scudetto.
