Almería ‘to have rejected’ Osasuna bid for Chirino | OneFootball

Almería have rejected an Osasuna bid for Chirino, according to Marca.

Osasuna's proposal was worth six million euros, a figure Almería consider insufficient. They do not plan to negotiate unless an offer approaches 15 million euros.

Chirino has also been on Valencia's shortlist after their move for Thomas Meunier became complicated. The Mestalla club even prepared an initial formal offer. Their idea was to cut the upfront cost by buying only a percentage of his rights.

That operation did not crystallise, and Valencia have since moved pieces. Right-back remains a priority with the start of LaLiga fast approaching.

In the meantime, Valencia have made Arnau Martínez their first choice for the position. Talks with Girona and the player have intensified, and he is open to becoming Carlos Corberán's starting right-back.

The deal is not closed. Valencia could reach five million euros for the defender, whose release clause is eight, and they hope to bring that fee down to fit their budget.

Chirino stays on the list as an alternative. Almería's response to Osasuna underlines a high asking price. Valencia must now decide whether to push for Arnau or revisit Chirino.
