Former France international Alou Diarra will be Julien Stéphan’s assistant coach at EFL Championship side Queens Park Rangers, according to a report on Sunday from L’Equipe. The former Rennes and Strasbourg head coach has signed a two-year deal with the Hoops. Stéphan’s deal will be extended for a further year if Queens Park Rangers achieve a Premier League promotion. QPR FC are set to imminently announce Stéphan’s arrival at Loftus Road.

QPR were actively searching for a new head coach after parting ways with Spaniard Martí Cifuentes at the end of the season. Cifuentes was dismissed after holding talks with other English clubs without informing the Hoops’ hierarchy. Stéphan will be accompanied by Rudi Cuni, his trusted video analyst. Alou Diarra will be Stéphan’s assistant coach.
