Alvaro Arbeloa says Kylian Mbappé is fine after Real Madrid rest him

Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa moved to reassure over Kylian Mbappé after the forward missed the 4-1 victory against Real Sociedad on Saturday.

According to L'Équipe, Mbappé has been heavily used since the start of the year despite a minor knee issue, and the France captain was rested for the league fixture, the 24th round.

After the match, Arbeloa said Mbappé is fine, noted he has been managing knee discomfort for some time, and highlighted the significant effort he makes whenever he plays.

He explained that Madrid chose not to take any risk so he could be ready for Tuesday's game.

The emphasis, he said, is on ensuring Mbappé is ready for midweek.
