Álvaro Morata tipped for surprise move to La Liga 2 | OneFootball

Former Spanish national team captain Álvaro Morata has this week been tipped for what would be a surprise move back to his home country on the club front.

This comes amid the understanding that Leganés have held tentative discussions over a deal for the experienced frontman ahead of the upcoming summer transfer deadline.

Morata is for his part currently plying his trade in Italy, with Cesc Fàbregas’ Como. After failing to find the net even once over the course of last season in Serie A, however, the 33-year-old is considered surplus to requirements.

On the lookout for reinforcements up top with a view to the campaign ahead, the aforementioned Leganés, in turn, have begun exploring what would be an audacious deal for Morata.

As per a report from Marca, citing Sky Italia:

‘Leganés are dreaming of signing the Spanish striker who currently plays for Como. For the moment, the Madrid club has not commented on these alleged negotiations, but talks have taken place between both parties in recent days.’
