According to Glorioso 1904, Alverca will be without André Gomes and Sabit Abdulai for Sunday’s visit to Benfica.

The Liga fixture at Estádio da Luz, part of matchday 21, kicks off at 20:30 on 8 February.

Gomes is ineligible as he is on loan from Benfica. The 1-2 home defeat on 31 August 2025 was the only league match he has not played this season. As on matchday four, Matheus Mendes is expected to start.

Abdulai is sidelined after suffering an injury in the opening minutes against Estrela da Amadora on Sunday, and will miss upcoming fixtures. The 26-year-old Ghanaian midfielder was close to a move to China late in the winter window, but is expected to remain in Ribatejo.

With Abdulai absent and Alex Amorim now at Genoa, Custódio Castro will have to pick a completely different midfield from the one used for much of the first half of the season.

Benfica remain third on 46 points and will seek a win to move on from recent misfortune in Beira Alta.
