According to Globo.com, América de México have submitted an initial loan proposal with an option to buy for Palmeiras midfielder Raphael Veiga. Negotiations are being handled by the player’s representatives as the parties seek common ground.

Palmeiras acknowledge talks are under way but say no formal offer has arrived. A formal submission is expected only if the structure of the deal is agreed.

People close to Veiga view the scenario as one that could progress, unlike Al Ettifaq’s 2024 approach, which was quickly rejected by both sides. América’s interest has been driven by coach André Jardine, who has placed Veiga on his wishlist.

Veiga has been a decisive figure for Palmeiras since 2017, aside from a 2018 loan to Athletico, and has won 11 trophies, placing him second among the club’s most decorated players.

He lost ground in 2025 after an injury spell, yet still made 53 appearances with seven goals and 11 assists. At the weekend, Abel Ferreira said he counts on the midfielder but added the decision lies with the player and the board, pointing to Weverton’s choice to join Grêmio after Saturday’s Choque-Rei win.
