Club América have formally opened their Apertura 2026 and Leagues Cup window, with Guillermo Almada the only confirmed arrival so far, according to Americayya.net.

América were knocked out of the Clausura 2026 liguilla a month ago, and the board waited for players to return from holiday before beginning business.

The Uruguayan coach is already in Mexico to lead pre-season. He will have more than a month to work, with the tournament scheduled to start on 18 July.

Five players have reported back to Coapa after loan spells, Cristian Calderón, Franco Rossano, Emilio Lara, Miguel Ramírez and Esteban Lozano. Their futures are yet to be decided. Beyond that, transfer talk remains rumour rather than fact.

There have been four departures to date, including André Jardine, Jonathan dos Santos and Ralph Orquín.

Several squad members are on the bubble, among them recent returnees and others such as ‘Pantera’ Zúñiga, Alexis Gutiérrez and Thiago Espinosa. Their continuity will depend on the coaching staff.

The hierarchy also do not rule out European interest in Sebastián Cáceres, Israel Reyes, Brian Rodríguez and Alejandro Zendejas. If an offer suits all parties, exits would be permitted and replacements sought.

For now the market looks set to run long, and early movement is not expected. Patience will be required as the picture develops.
