Frank Ilett, who has vowed not to cut his hair until Manchester United win five consecutive games, crossed paths with Ruben Amorim yesterday, with the Milan coach offering a light-hearted apology.

Milan coach Amorim met Frank Ilett, the Manchester United fan who has been growing his hair until Manchester United win five games in a row, on Thursday.

The meeting occurred at the Portugal Football Summit, and Ilett shared a photo with the Portuguese coach on Instagram.

“Great to meet Ruben Amorim at the Portugal Football Summit,” he wrote.

“He saw me, pointed to my hair and said ‘sorry about that!’ Still have love for him.”

Amorim spent 14 months in charge of Manchester United, winning just 25 of his 63 games and obviously never reaching five straight wins. He was hired by the Red Devils in November 2024 and sacked in January 2026.

This past summer, he signed a three-year contract with Serie A giants Milan, replacing Massimiliano Allegri.

Amorim is unbeaten in the opening five Serie A games of the season, grabbing three wins and two draws. He’s lost his only game of the season against Benfica in the Europa League.
