After just missing out on the play-offs last time around, Hull City and their ambitious owner Acun Ilicali will certainly be targeting a top six finish at the minimum.

Ilicali sacked Liam Rosenior after failing to reach the top six, and appointed Tim Walter, who will have a full summer transfer window to build the squad that he wants.

Whilst Ilicali will almost certainly provide funds to sign new players, the Tigers could see players leave the MKM Stadium, both fringe players who the club will be happy to see leave, and important players who might receive offers they can't turn down.

Hull City fan pundit expecting departures this summer

FLW's Hull City fan pundit, Ant Northgraves, believes the club could struggle to keep star centre-back Jacob Greaves this summer, but would be happy to see the back of one player in particular.

Speaking to Football League World, Ant said: "I think one player I’d be happy to see the back of for a fee would definitely be Dogukan Sinik. He’s been an expensive mistake since the first time we signed him.

“He’s a player I’d imagine is on decent wages and isn’t contributing anything to the side at the minute, so he’s one I’d definitely like to see the back of.

“One that I’d reluctantly be happy to see leave is Jacob Greaves. "Realistically, we need him to stay as he’s a fantastic player, and he has a massive future in the game, but he’s more than earned his move to the Premier League, and he deserves a crack at that and hopefully getting into the frame for the England side.

“It’s one of those where you desperately want him to stay, but you can’t begrudge him a move away. The player I’d definitely want to see the back of is Dogukan Sinik.

Dogukan Sinik has been a poor signing for Hull City

The Hull City faithful were expecting big things when winger Dogukan Sinik joined the club from Antalyaspor in the summer of 2022, but the Turkish International's time at the MKM Stadium has been a disaster.

He's made just 13 appearances for the club, and has spent the second half of both the 2022/23 season and 2023/24 season on loan in Turkey.

He made just one appearance for the Tigers this season, playing 22 minutes off the bench in their 3-0 loss to Ipswich at the start of October.

His contract at Hull expires in the summer of 2025, although the club do have an option to extend it by 12 months, but it seems highly unlikely that they'll choose to do so.

This means that Hull need to sell Sinik this summer if they're to recoup any of the undisclosed fee that they paid Antalyaspor two summers ago.

The Turkish international has flopped badly at Hull, and a permanent move away is the best move for all parties involved this summer.
