Carlo Ancelotti named Brazil’s squad on 9 September, including Flamengo pair Pedro and Samuel Lino, for the next FIFA friendlies. The 26 players start reporting in Brisbane from Monday 21, while part of the staff travel on Friday 18. The camp begins a new post-World Cup cycle under Ancelotti.
“I am very happy to return to the Seleção Brasileira,” said Pedro. “I hope to make the most of this opportunity and give my best, as always, so that it is a new cycle of victories for the Seleção,” he told Flamengo’s official YouTube channel.
Brazil will play Australia twice then India. Based in Brisbane, they will train at the Clive Berghofer Centre. On 24 September they fly to Townsville for the first Australia game on 25 September at seven Brasília time at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.
They return to Brisbane after the opener. The second Australia match is on 29 September at Suncorp Stadium at 11 Brasília time. On 1 October the squad travel to Kolkata for a first ever meeting with India.
They will train the next day at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan, known as Salt Lake Stadium, which holds 63,000 and opened in 1984. Brazil face India on Saturday 3 October at 11 Brasília time.
Brazil’s domestic calendar pauses for the window. Flamengo have no fixtures from 20 September to 8 October, so Pedro and Samuel Lino will only miss training.
“I am very happy for this opportunity, to be called up now and to be back in this new cycle. I hope to enjoy it a lot,” said Samuel Lino.
