Santi Aouna is reporting that Stade Brestois and Anderlecht are close to reaching an agreement over the transfer of Algerian striker Islam Slimani (34), with an agreement between the player and the Belgian side already concluded.
The Algerian international has played 18 games for Brest this season, including 16 in Ligue 1. During that time, he has scored two goals and registered three assists for the club, who are currently 16th in the French top flight. Given that four teams will be relegated this season, Brest are very much embroiled in a battle to retain their Ligue 1 status.
However, he is now set to be only his way out of that relegation scrap. Brest and Anderlecht are close to agreeing on a transfer, whilst the player himself has already agreed terms with the Belgian top-flight club. The Algerian international will sign a six-month deal with Anderlecht with the option for a further year.
