Mamadou Coulibaly (19) is considered one of the brightest prospects in AS Monaco’s prestigious La Diagonale academy. The France youth international has broken into the first team this season, making three appearances in all competitions with the Principality club. According to Sacha Tavolieri, his performances, both with the first-team, as well as the Groupe Élite, have caught the attention of Belgian Pro League side Anderlecht.
As things stand, Coulibaly’s contract with Monaco is set to expire at the end of next season. Anderlecht sense that there is an opportunity to poach the young box-to-box midfielder and are planning on making an offer after enquiring about a possible deal, according to Tavolieri.
AS Monaco’s stance regarding any hypothetical offer is unclear. Coulibaly is highly rated at the Principality club and with Youssuof Fofana touted to leave the club this summer, there could be a greater promise of first-team opportunities next season.
