HLN are reporting that Anderlecht have offered a contract to 28-year-old attacking midfielder Selim Amallah. The Moroccan, who has been capped by the Atlas Lions on a few occasions, has been a free agent since he left Spanish side Real Valladolid after a mutual contract termination was agreed. He is now free to find a new club, with Anderlecht one of his options. Alongside a return to Belgian football, Amallah has also been offered a chance to join Russian side Zenit St Petersburg.

Amallah left Belgian football to join then La Liga side Real Valladolid back in 2023. The Moroccan left Standard Liege, where he had played since 2019. Prior to Standadr, Amallah had been part of the set up at the now defunct Royal Excel Mouscron. Amallah made 97 appearances for Standard Liege, scoring 31 goals and providing 11 assists. Amallah’s best season of his career came during the 2020/2021 season, where he scored 15 goals in 36 games.

Amallah struggled in Spain and Anderlecht will be hoping a return to Belgium would see the midfielder return to his previous form. Amallah only made eight appearances in his first season and a bit with the club before being loaned out to Valencia. During the 2023/2024 season he made 22 appearances for Valencia, scoring no goals and providing one assist. Last season he was part of the Real Valladolid side that were relegated from La Liga. In 25 games Amallah scored four goals and provided two assists.
