André Carrillo could start back-to-back matches for the first time under Fernando Diniz when Corinthians host Rosario Central in the Copa Libertadores last 16 on Thursday night.

According to Meu Timao, the 35-year-old is in contention for the second leg after Allan’s red card in the first meeting, with André Luiz still a probable absentee as he recovers from a hamstring issue.

Carrillo started Sunday’s 1-2 defeat to Cruzeiro, played 79 minutes before Matheus Pereira came on, and was recently honoured by the club for reaching 100 appearances.

He last began successive games in January, starting 1-1 draws with São Paulo then Santos four days apart, when Corinthians were led by Dorival Júnior.

Under Diniz, across 25 matches, he has started only five times, all in the Brasileiro.

He has failed to feature in only four games under Diniz, and his last unused outing came before the World Cup break, a 1-1 draw away to Peñarol in Montevideo on matchday five.

Diniz can also turn to Raniele, Breno Bidon, Charles, Alex Santana or Matheus Pereira. Kick-off at Neo Química Arena is 21:30, and Corinthians need a narrow win to reach the quarter-finals. A draw would take the tie to penalties.
