Corinthians midfielder André Carrillo has reported for Peru duty in the United States despite a recent thigh problem, and is training separately with the national team staff.

According to Meu Timao, Carrillo was absent due to a left posterior thigh oedema. He missed Sunday’s 3-1 defeat to Fluminense.

He is undertaking individual drills with ball work and is not expected to play against the United States on Saturday.

His programme differs from other Corinthians players recently in the medical department. Gabriel Paulista, Zakaria Labyad, Kayke and Yuri Alberto have already resumed work at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava.

Peru’s tour continues with Mexico on 29 September in New Jersey, then Canada on 3 October in Montreal, before Colombia in Miami on 6 October.

Despite not securing a regular starting place this season, Corinthians plan to keep Carrillo, whose contract runs only until the end of 2026. Talks over a possible extension for the 35-year-old have begun.
