Benfica have made André Luiz their preferred option for the wing, but talks with Rio Ave have yet to produce an agreement.

Negotiations are ongoing and Benfica, led by Rui Costa, are attempting to bring the price down. Record writes that Rio Ave owner Evangelos Marinakis is holding firm at 15 million euros, a figure the Lisbon club view as high.

The outlet adds that Benfica are pushing for 12 million euros, which Rui Costa regards as fair for the 23-year-old. It also reports that the Brazilian has turned down other proposals and wants a move to the Estádio da Luz.

Meanwhile, O Jogo claims Rio Ave are seeking 20 million euros. Facing those numbers, the paper says Benfica could switch attention to Wesley, with Al Nassr asking less for the 20-year-old.

André Luiz has 18 appearances this season for Rio Ave, 17 in Liga Portugal Betclic and one in the Taça de Portugal. Across 1,390 minutes he has scored seven goals and supplied five assists. He is valued at four million euros and is under contract until June 2029.
