André Silva has returned to Porto after a family break in Japan and is due to undergo medical tests on Monday. The striker, who hit 10 goals for Elche last season, is closing on a move that would make him Farioli’s second summer signing.
According to O Jogo, the medical will precede talks to finalise remaining details, with some personal matters still to resolve. The formal announcement is planned for the coming days and is not anticipated to go beyond this week.
The broad terms have long been in place, a two-season contract that involves a salary reduction. Silva has always wanted to return to the Dragão after completing only one full senior campaign in 2016/17 before a 38 million euros move to Milan.
A major career aim is to win the league with Porto, a feat he has only managed at under-17 level and with the B team in II Liga. At Elche he secured a four million euros Porto-only release clause for winter, half the official figure, but Porto signed Terem Moffi at no cost and Silva has since declined an option to extend.
For now he appears ahead internally, with Samu injured until November and Deniz Gil at the World Cup with Türkiye, potentially reporting late if he stays for 26/27. The club are still seeking another centre-forward, so Silva could be the only striker available at the start of pre-season on the first of July.
