Andreas Schjelderup has again declined to sign a contract extension at Benfica and is yet to respond to the proposal tabled by Rui Costa. He may leave in upcoming transfer windows.

Record writes that the 22-year-old believes he has not been properly valued by the club, despite clear improvement under José Mourinho in the second half of last season.

The stand-off is not about money, with a five-year proposal worth €18 million gross presented at the end of last season. His representatives let the deadline lapse and do not plan to reply in the coming months.

Interest from England and Germany has strengthened his hand, with approaches indicating net salaries around €3 million per year. Even so, he has not pushed to leave or clashed with the hierarchy, and remains focused on the team.

Benfica still want the Norwegian forward to stay. Offers not exceeding €45 million, including add-ons, have been rejected as below their valuation.
