Andrés Martín has resumed group work and is aiming for a return when Racing host Valencia on Sunday 11 October at 21:00 at El Sardinero. According to AS, the winger took part in Thursday's session as he steps up after a right-knee sprain.
It was his first time back with the group since suffering the injury on 28 August against Elche, with an initial prognosis of six to eight weeks. Almost five weeks on, he touched the ball and completed roughly half the workout at the Santi Gutiérrez Calle pitch at the Nando Yosu complex in La Albericia.
He joined the warm-up and the opening attack-versus-defence drill set by José Alberto López, demanding quick reactions, explosive sprints and finishing. Racing are being cautious, so he skipped the subsequent small-sided games.
The plan is to manage his load again tomorrow, then reintegrate him progressively next week, so that, if José Alberto deems it appropriate, he could be available.
Pablo Ramón, who had felt renewed hamstring discomfort, did not touch the ball, instead running alone on the pitch, Cadena SER reports. Arana, absent on Wednesday due to a thigh knock, completed Thursday's session.
Goalkeeper Simon Eriksson is not expected back as quickly, continuing to work but avoiding full goalkeeper drills alongside Julen Agirrezabala and Laro Gómez. No further Rayo Cantabria players trained with the group. Internationals Zabiri, Pablo García and Salinas were absent, and Salinas played an hour yesterday for Spain Under-20 against Mexico.
