Keith Andrews has highlighted his Brentford side’s own attacking strengths ahead of their test against Premier League leaders Arsenal at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Having impressed massively despite losing the likes of Bryan Mbuemo, Yoanne Wissa and Christian Norgaard, the Bees have the chance to potentially leapfrog Liverpool into sixth place with 12 games left to play.
With his success he has enjoyed since taking over from Thomas Frank, Andrews sent out a warning not to underestimate his team.
He said: ”We’re a pretty good attacking team ourselves. We’ve got a lot of strengths to how we play the game.
‘’But there’s absolutely no doubt it’s going to be a really, really difficult game. They are the best team in the country. The table doesn’t usually lie.”
Andrews was also asked about his thoughts around former manager Thomas Frank being sacked by Spurs – 10 points behind Brentford – after eight months in charge of the north London club.
He said: “I found out as I was in the meeting room, getting ready to present bits on Arsenal and my game plan to the players. I just got told about it.
“So, very sad, really, was my initial feeling. Thomas is a friend, very aware of the football industry that we work in and what goes on in that. But my initial feeling was that of sadness and basically hope he’s OK.”
”I’m sure he will be. But today is obviously a really tough day for him.”
Brentford will have their strong attacking outlets at their disposal heading into their clash with Arsenal which include starlets such as Igor Thiago and Dango Ouattara.
Speaking on those two Andrews was full of praise, saying: ”[Dango] is in good form, he’s been brilliant. I love working with him and his ceiling is so high as a player.
“His approach to what we do is very selfless which is a very important part’.
”[Tomorrow is] is a night that [Thiago] is really looking forward to for sure. He is in really good form. He’s leading the line well, scoring goals, and playing with confidence.”
For many Brentford fans, a night-time match up against Arsenal conjures up memories of their first ever game in the Premier League four years ago where the Bees ran out 2-1 winners thanks to goals from Sergi Canos and Christian Norgaard.
Speaking on the history of the fixture from Brentford’s point of view, Andrews said: ”I remember watching it quite vividly. It was a special night for the football club that will be long remembered.
”We’re very hopeful that we can produce another night like that, but we need to play very, very well against a top team.”
Andrews will be keen to maintain his full focus on preparation for the sides game against Arsenal however which Kicks off at 8:00 GMT on Thursday 12th February.
