Ángel Donato, new coach of Girona B | OneFootball

Ángel Donato will be the new coach of Girona FC B for the 2026-27 season. The coach, who has signed for one year, will be accompanied by Àlex Granell, who becomes the assistant coach. Last season, the former red-and-white captain and the fourth player with the most official matches with Girona's first team, held the position of technical secretary for the reserve team.

Born in Alicante in November 1990, Ángel Donato joins Girona after coaching Atlético de Madrid's Juvenil A team last season. Previously, he managed Ilicitano, Elche's reserve team, for two seasons.

His career is closely linked to Atlético de Madrid, a club where he has spent much of his career. For thirteen years, he was part of the red-and-white youth system, holding various positions of responsibility, including sports coordinator of the Academy, Methodology Coordinator, and coach in several categories.

With this addition, Girona strengthens its commitment to a profile with extensive experience in player development, a consolidated methodology, and a clear focus on nurturing young talent.
