Angelo Stiller thinks Stuttgart’s attractive playing style is a perfect fit for the Champions League stage. In an exclusive interview with Bundesliga, the German international spoke about the prospect of qualifying for Europe’s premier competition.
“Champions League would mean everything, not only for me but for the whole club and the city,” said Stiller about his aim for the rest of the season. “We deserve it because of our attractive style of play. People enjoy watching us and know what we stand for. I also think our fans would create a great atmosphere in Europe.”
Stuttgart are currently leading the race for the last two spots after Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. However, RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, and TSG Hoffenheim are still in the mix with only five points separating third from sixth in the standings.
“It’s extremely exciting when several teams fight for a few places. It is extra motivation,” Stiller adds about the competition for European spots. "Europa League is also something good. There are great teams and great trips. Of course, we want the Champions League, but (qualifying for) the Europa League would not be a disappointment either."
