Angers beat Auxerre 3-1 at Stade de l'Abbé Deschamps to rise from ninth to seventh in Ligue 1.

Branco Van den Boomen arrowed in from range in the fifth minute to give the visitors the lead. Rémy Labeau Lascary levelled with a low strike after a breakaway (35.).

After the restart, Anthony Lopes kept Angers level with sharp stops, notably denying Labeau Lascary at close range. Auxerre pushed, but the goalkeeper's seven saves proved pivotal.

Stéphane Gilli's changes flipped the game. Substitute Harouna Djibirin restored the lead with a tidy finish from Amine El Ouazzani's pass (70.). El Ouazzani then swept in a third from Ousmane Camara's knockdown following a corner (78.).

Eight minutes were indicated for second half stoppage time, but Angers managed the closing stages without alarm.

Auxerre had 60% possession and 20 attempts but could not make pressure count. Angers excelled in duels and set pieces, and their bench made the difference.
