A head-turning statistic, highlighting the uptick in production being enjoyed by Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski this season, has come to the fore online.
This, of course, comes after the Pole played a central role in Barcelona scooping their first silverware of the campaign on Sunday night.
After making the trip to Jeddah for a showdown with arch rivals Real Madrid in the final of the Spanish Super Cup, Hansi Flick’s troops ultimately emerged on the right side of a memorable 5-2 result.
Lewandowski, for his part, was amongst the goals on the evening, notching Barca’s go-ahead 2nd from the penalty spot.
And it was this strike which has since culminated in an altogether noteworthy individual statistic.
As revealed by Diario Sport, the former Bayern Munich man has now racked up the same number of goals he did last season, in 22 fewer appearances.
After finding the net 26 times in 49 outings in 2023/24, Lewandowski has since notched 26 times in just 27 appearances this time round.
The veteran frontman joins both Raphinha and Lamine Yamal in this category, with both wingers having actually already surpassed their respective goalscoring tallies from last season.
