Things could still get exciting for FC Bayern on the transfer market. Although sporting director Max Eberl recently all but ruled out another new signing, the Munich club is apparently looking into a promising young talent from Paris Saint-Germain.
As transfer journalist Nicolo Schira reports, Bayern has requested information about Ibrahim Mbaye. The 18-year-old Senegalese is currently under contract with PSG and could be open to a transfer this summer.
Mbaye is considered a major talent from Paris Saint-Germain’s youth academy. According to Schira, the attacking player wants to increase his chances of getting regular playing time. Leaving the French capital is therefore apparently an option.
This is exactly where FC Bayern could come into play. The Munich club is said to have inquired about the terms of a potential transfer and is closely monitoring the situation of the Senegalese national team player.
However, there has been no concrete offer or even advanced negotiations so far. Rather, it appears to be, for now, simply a request for information.

When asked whether FC Bayern would make another move in the transfer market, the sporting director replied: “99 percent sure not. But as long as the transfer window is open, you can never say 100 percent.”
While Eberl had made it clear that another signing was less likely than others, he also deliberately left a back door open.
“What if a player becomes available on a free transfer later on, and I’m not allowed to sign him because I said 100 percent? That’s why I say 99 percent,” Eberl added.
The rumors surrounding an inquiry about Mbaye now at least show that Bayern is apparently still closely monitoring the market. Whether this could actually lead to a transfer, however, remains completely up in the air.
