This comes amid confirmation that yet another member of the club’s first-team ranks is set to miss the remainder of the season through injury.
Recent weeks have of course proven nothing short of a nightmare for Quique and his coaching staff, on the personnel front.
Whilst Sevilla have enjoyed a timely upturn in form on the pitch, the situation in the infirmary has long been spiralling out of control.
Both Nemanja Gudelj and Djibril Sow were recently ruled out for the final weeks of the campaign, with Adrià Pedrosa facing a similar fate, too.
Over the weekend, star attacker Isaac Romero was then stretchered out of the Nervionenses’ derby showdown with Real Betis.
Ensuing scans revealed a serious hamstring problem, with Isaac, too, looking highly unlikely to take to the pitch again before the season is out.
And, as alluded to above, on Tuesday, yet another of Quique’s stars has been condemned to a spell on the sidelines.
The player in question? Óliver Torres.
As confirmed in a statement across Sevilla’s website and social media platforms, midfielder Torres has been forced under the knife, to repair a shoulder injury suffered in training last week:
‘After suffering a trauma to his right shoulder in training last Thursday, Óliver Torres has undergone a successful operation.
‘The midfielder decided to go ahead with the procedure with the aim of preventing any further shoulder issues from recurring. He will now miss the remainder of the season as he begins his recovery.’
