The latest goal netted by Osasuna star Ante Budimir on Saturday proved an altogether significant one.
Osasuna marked their return to action a short time ago, playing host to Las Palmas in a La Liga clash.
When all was said and done, Vicente Moreno’s troops emerged on the right side of a 2-1 result, to climb up to 7th spot in the Spanish top-flight table.
And amongst the goalscorers on the day, as alluded to above, was star frontman Ante Budimir.
Croatian international Budimir set the goalscoring in motion at El Sadar, slotting home from the penalty spot before Aimar Oroz ensured all three points for Los Rojillos on the hour mark.
And, in the process, the former clinched history.
As revealed by statisticians Opta, Budimir has now racked up 45 goals for Osasuna in La Liga.
Only one player in the club’s history – Sabino Andonegui – has managed more, with his tally of 57 no doubt firmly in Budimir’s sights with a view to the remainder of the campaign.
