Anton Stach says Daniel Farke deserves recognition for shaping a Leeds United side that has competed strongly in the Premier League after promotion.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the brief was to avoid the fate of last season’s promoted trio, when Leicester City, Southampton and Ipswich Town combined for 59 points, finished at least 13 adrift of 17th, conceded at least 80 goals and none reached 37 goals.

Leeds kept faith with Farke and a recruitment plan built on athleticism, stamina, aerial power and resilience, alongside quality on the ball. Stach embodies that profile, covering ground, winning duels and contributing with chances and goals.

Elland Road gave Stach a standing ovation after 70 minutes in Friday’s win over Burnley, which moved Leeds to 43 points with a goal difference of minus five and put safety within reach.

A bleak November brought one win in seven and scrutiny. Trailing 2-0 at Man City, Farke switched to a back three and a spirited second half ended in a 3-2 loss, followed by a win over Chelsea and a draw with Liverpool. Leeds then went seven unbeaten, though Farke plays down talk of a turning point.

Stach said the manager, players and staff stuck together in adversity, which to him showed the club’s strength as a team. He added that Farke should get credit, noting Leeds were in nearly every game, aside from the Arsenal fixtures. Leeds could be safe without kicking another ball if Arsenal beat West Ham on Sunday.
